Influencing the enjoyment of food by delivering scents to consumers independent of food. A separate scent delivery device is used to deliver scents simultaneously or independently. This method can be used to increase food enjoyment, reduce food enjoyment, or provide food virtual reality enjoyment. The method can increase food enjoyment while the food is consumed, and thus increase food consumption of anorexic persons. The method can reduce food enjoyment while the food is being consumed, thus reducing consumption and helping obese people eat less. [Selection] Figure 3
