PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turbine nozzle with improved cooling.SOLUTION: An inner band 200 and an outer band define inner and outer flow boundaries of the turbine nozzle 100. The inner band 200 includes a gas side surface 216 that is at least partially covered by one or more inner plates. The inner band 200 also includes a plurality of cooling channels 214 formed within the gas side surface 216 beneath the one or more inner plates. The outer band includes a gas side surface that is at least partially covered by one or more outer plates. The outer band comprises a plurality of cooling channels formed within the gas side surface directly beneath the one or more outer plates.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
