PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a method for estimating an MFB50 combustion index and instantaneous torque generated by a cylinder of a driving shaft in an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A method for estimating an MFB50 combustion index of a cylinder (2) of an internal combustion engine (1), which includes a driving shaft 4 to each end part of which at least a pair of position sensors (5, 5, 5A, 5B) is arranged, includes the steps of: capturing signals arriving from the two position sensors (5, 5, 5A, 5B); acquiring a torsion angle (Δθ) of the driving shaft based on the signals from the two position sensors; and estimating an MFB50 combustion index of the single cylinder (2) of the internal combustion engine (1) based on the torsion angle (Δθ) of the driving shaft.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
