PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjusting the copper concentration of a chlorine leachate in a nickel chlorine leaching process, capable of preventing cost increase resulting from the increasing loss of a chlorine gas, capable of preventing degradation of the recovery percentage of Ni and Co and capable of continuing an industrial operation without generating environmental issues.SOLUTION: A method for adjusting the copper concentration of a chlorine leachate in a nickel chlorine leaching process comprises: setting optionally a control reference value of the copper concentration of the chlorine leachate between 15-55 g/L; previously setting a means to be adopted subsequently according to the behavior of the copper concentration of the chlorine leachate with respect to the control reference value; and maintaining the copper concentration in the chlorine leachate in the range of 10 to 60 g/L by carrying out along the set means in forming the chlorine leachate by chlorine-leaching Ni from a metal sulfide containing Ni in a chloride aqueous solution.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
