PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a routing table of a router in an information centric network (ICN).SOLUTION: A router includes: a receiver module configured to receive an interest indicting a name associated with a part of a content; an interest processing module configured to determine whether the interest can be transferred, acquire a unique label for a second router in response to the determination that the interest can be transferred to the second router, and attach the label to the interest; and a transfer module configured to transfer the interest to the second router having the attached label.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
