A composite sheet is disclosed that includes a first sheet and a second sheet. The first and second sheets are adhered to each other at a number of spaced apart discontinuous inter-sheet adhesion locations. The first sheet is a non-woven material having discontinuous three-dimensional deformations therein, and these three-dimensional deformations are outward from the first surface of the first sheet to their distal ends. An extending protrusion and a wide base opening adjacent to the second surface of the first sheet are formed. The second sheet is a generally flat sheet that contacts the distal end of the protrusion on the first sheet. The second sheet is bonded to the first sheet at spaced inter-sheet bonding locations where the first region of the first sheet contacts the second sheet.
