PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for transmitting the emergency information that can transmit emergency information and localize persons at occurrence of disasters, with a small amount of electricity and a simple configuration.SOLUTION: The emergency information transmission system is for transmitting emergency information between a portable unit that a person is carrying and a base station. The portable unit includes reception means, sending means for sending ID information and positional information; and a radio, working in conjunction with the reception means. The base station includes sending means for sending a predetermined message and an enforcement ON signal of the radio to the reception means of the portable unit and confirmation means for confirming the ID information and the positional information sent from the sending means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
