The electronic device is adapted to facilitate data coding to simultaneously limit both instantaneous current and signal transitions. According to an example, the electronic device may perform a first encoding scheme on a group of data bits to be transmitted on the data bus. The first encoding scheme may be performed based on the number of transitions in the group of data bits for each data channel. A second coding scheme may be performed on groups of data bits. The second encoding scheme may be performed based on the number of data bits in a group of data bits for each data channel indicating a given state (eg, 1 or 0). After both encoding schemes have been performed on groups of data bits, the encoded data bits may be transmitted via respective data channels of the data bus.
