PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering rare metals which allows for utilizing input materials without waste, and regenerating the input materials easily so as to recycle, and to provide a device for recovering rare metals which can be easily downsized or enlarged according to an amount of the input materials to be treated.SOLUTION: A method for recovering rare metals comprising: a first process for mixing a rare metal chelate complex and copper ions, replacing at least a part of the rare metals which are coordinated in the rare metal chelate complex, by the copper ions, and obtaining a copper chelate complex and rare metal ions; a second process for separating and recovering the rare metal ions obtained through the first process by electrodialysis using a first cation-exchange membrane; and a third process for recovering copper from the copper chelate complex obtained through the first process by electrolysis and regenerating a chelate agent.
