PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To desalinate seawater inexpensively in a large amount by increasing an evaporation rate of steam with no hydrophobic porous membranes such as those of fluorine base while a membrane distillation apparatus has been examined, which desalinates sea water by condensing steam generated by warming hot sea water with cold water at a relatively low temperature, for example, of 50°C-70°C with a hydrophobic porous membrane.SOLUTION: The solution means of this invention tries to provide a nanofiber membrane distillation apparatus the distiller 7 of which is fitted with a nanofiber thick membrane much more air-permeable than a normal fluorine membrane to produce a large amount of steam by boiling sea water so as to cope with household use with low-priced equipment with little running cost and also industrial plant use.
