Aqueous UV inkjet ink

The present invention describes the use of an aqueous UV curable ink jet printing ink wherein the ink is basic due to the presence of a tertiary amine and is a compound of Formula I or Formula IA: Of an acid functional photoinitiator, wherein R¹, R², R³, N, q, and y are as defined herein. This combination of a photoinitiator and a tertiary amine enables rapid low dose UV curing of an aqueous UV formulation using a UV LED light source.
