PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an approximate uniform spring balance to be attained within a relative long stroke range and support a heavy weight at a prescribed height position when the heavy weight supported at a support frame is supported by a spring force of a spring member at a prescribed height position.SOLUTION: When a heavy object is supported by a spring member arranged between a fixed frame and a support frame, there are provided a follower member for transmitting a spring force of the spring member to the support frame, a cam surface for restricting a motion of the follower member, and biasing means for forcedly contacting the follower member with the cam surface. The follower member can move in a direction crossing with an extending and retracting direction of the spring, it is moved up and down in a gravitational force acting direction by the spring force and the biasing force along the cam surface in the extending and retracting direction of the spring and at the same time while being moved while it is being moved in a direction crossing with it.
