PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas barrier coating liquid capable of producing a gas-barrier packaging material with excellent liquid stability, excellent coating properties even with little content of a volatile base or an acid, capable of forming a layer including a polyvalent metal salt of a polycarboxylic acid-based polymer with one liquid, having high oxygen gas barrier properties even if exposed to hot water and an environment of high temperature and high humidity.SOLUTION: A gas barrier coating liquid includes a component (A), a component (B), a component (C), a component (D), a component (E) and a solvent. If the mol number of the component (B) is 1, the sum of the mol number of the component (C) and the mol number of the component (D) is 0.05-16 mol. The content of the component (E) is 0.1-100 pts.mass with regard to 100 pts.mass of the component (A). (A) is a polycarboxylic acid-based polymer. (B) is a polyvalent metal ion. (C) is a volatile base or acid (excluding carbonic acid). (D) is a carbonate ion. (E) is at least one type of silicon compound selected from a group consisting of a silicon compound having a functional group that reacts with the component (A) and a hydrolyzable ortho silicic acid ester.SELECTED DRAWING: None
