PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably determine tension between stands by a motor current of a motor for driving a rolling stand for rolling a rolling material in bar steel rolling.SOLUTION: In a method for estimating stand tension in bar steel rolling, and a rolling mill for bar steel rolling, the tension between rolling stands is determined by using a rolling model and a differential current being the amount of change in a motor current of the rolling stand 9, when bar steel rolling is performed while the tension between the rolling stands is measured by the rolling mill 1 including the plurality of rolling stands 9 driven by a motor.
