PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data management system or a data management method capable of accessing electronic data stored in a folder, by using property information of shortcut data stored in another folder, through changing the property information of the shortcut data.SOLUTION: A data management system comprises: storage means storing electronic data and shortcut data linked to the electronic data; detection means for detecting a change of property information of the electronic data; and changing means for changing property information of the shortcut data into the property information of the electronic data according to the change of the property information of the electronic data detected at the detection means.
