PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate the number of persons on each floor of a building without monitoring the number of persons entering and retreating a building at all times.SOLUTION: An estimation device of the number of persons includes: a riding/leaving hysteresis information preparation part 11 which prepares riding/leaving hysteresis information including riding/leaving floor and riding/leaving times of each elevator user based on circumstances of riding/leaving for an elevator car installed on a building; a correction parameter calculation part 12 which calculates a correction parameter used when calculating the number of persons on each floor based on the number of entering and retreating persons within a prescribed term of the building and the riding/leaving hysteresis information within a prescribed term; and an estimation part 13 of the number of persons for estimating the number of persons on each floor including a person other than usage of the elevator at a present time by correcting the number of persons on each floor of elevator users obtained from the riding/leaving hysteresis information corresponding to the elevator users who ride and leave the elevator car with a correction parameter within an estimation term of the number of persons from the standard time point to the present time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
