PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to manufacture and adjust an earthquake detector without highly accurate machining, and enable the earthquake detector to detect a vibration with predetermined magnitude or larger.SOLUTION: An earthquake detector includes: a movement part having mass; a support part for supporting the movement part in a manner to enable the movement part to move in a predetermined linear direction; a fixed part fixed to the support part; and a suppression part which is connected to the fixed part in a manner to be able to change its inclination, and which suppresses the movement of the movement part in the predetermined linear direction while contacting with a predetermined position of the movement part. The maximum value of force that the suppression part suppresses the movement of the movement part in the predetermined linear direction is predetermined magnitude. When the movement part is separated from the suppression part, the suppression part changes its inclination.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
