PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for calculating a way to capture an RPG (Role Playing Game) capable of calculating the way to capture the RPG without acquiring examinee's experience data, grasping game components, in terms of engineering, providing people with a feeling of interest and easily programming a way to select character's action operated by a computer, and a method and a program therefor, and a record medium storing the program.SOLUTION: A device for calculating a way to capture an RPG includes an optimum strategy calculating part for outputting a strategy maximizing an expected and integrated gain equivalent to an integrated reward to be obtained in the duration of a control period when an initial state in RPG player's game start time and the length of the control period are given, and an action determining part for outputting an optimum action maximizing the expected and integrated gain when a player's state and time are given at its time and state and thereafter, and the maximum of the expected and integrated gain, thereby outputting the optimum strategy securing the expected and integrated gain maximally in the duration of the control period about the player's initial state and the length of the control period.
