PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auto-sampler which, when sucking a sample containing a component having a high melting temperature or a sample having a high component concentration, enables clogging of its piping due to precipitation of the component to be suppressed, and to provide a chromatograph having the auto-sampler.SOLUTION: There is provided the auto-sampler which includes: a sample container placing part where a sample container housing a sample therein can be placed; a nozzle that sucks the sample housed in the sample container; a pump that is connected to the nozzle and sucks the sample; and a waste liquid container that houses a cleaning waste liquid used for cleaning the nozzle. The sample container placing part can be moved in the horizontal and vertical directions by first horizontal movement means, second horizontal movement means having a movement axis different from that of the first horizontal movement means, and vertical movement means. The waste liquid container can be moved in the horizontal and/or vertical direction by at least one of the first horizontal movement means, the second horizontal movement means, and the vertical movement means. There is also provided a chromatograph having the auto-sampler.
