PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method and an apparatus for a heavy metal-containing water which stably remove a heavy metal over a long term.SOLUTION: A treatment method for a heavy metal-containing water includes a pH adjustment step which adjusts the pH of a water to be treated by a lime material in a pH adjustment part 31; a first separation step which insolubilizes and separates a heavy metal in the water to be treated, together with an iron oxide by an iron containing layer 42 containing an organic material; and a second separation step which reduces a sulfate ion in the water to be treated by a sulfate reduction microbe in a sulfate reduction layer 43 and also generates and separates the sulfide of the heavy metal.
