PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling method for a metal plate material and a rolling machine for the same, which can suppress vibration generation when starting rolling and a collision between work rolls when finishing the rolling.SOLUTION: A rolling machine 10 for a metal plate material includes: increase bending devices 15a, 15b, 16a and 16b; and decrease bending devices 19a, 19b, 20a, and 20b. Each of the decrease bending devices 19a, 19b, 20a, and 20b has hydraulic cylinders 21a and 21b acting on work roll chocks 13a and 13b. The rolling machine 10 further includes a hydraulic pump 23 connected to the hydraulic cylinders 21a and 21b via a first valve 22, and an accumulator 25 openably/closably connected to a pipe conduit 24 for connecting the hydraulic cylinders 21a and 21b and the first valve 22 via a second valve 26.
