NONLINEAR PENALTY ESTIMATION USING SPECTRUM INVERSION IN OPTICAL TRANSPORT NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide nonlinear penalty estimation using spectrum inversion in an optical transport network.;SOLUTION: A method and a system are capable of estimating a nonlinear penalty of an optical path using spectrum inversion in the optical transport network. A specific value of a nonlinear transmission function for nonlinear penalty estimation may also be previously calculated regarding an optical path between given nodes.
