Cluster analysis method, cluster analysis apparatus and computer program

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cluster analysis method suitable for analysis to obtain new sample points in multiple directions.SOLUTION: When a plurality of sample points are plotted on an orthogonal coordinate plane having an x-coordinate axis representing first characteristic values and a y-coordinate axis representing second characteristic values, an origin (x, y) required to represent the plurality of sample points in polar coordinates is determined on the orthogonal coordinate plane. A first characteristic value xand a second characteristic value yof each sample point for the plurality of sample points are coordinate-transformed into a distance rfrom the origin (x, y) to the sample point and an angle &thetas;representing the direction from the origin (x, y) to the sample points. The distance ris evaluated with respect to the plurality of sample points, and sample points with evaluated values approximating with each other are classified in the same cluster.
