PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structural design apparatus capable of generally full-automatically selecting structural materials for a building to reduce the load imposed on a designer in check processing to a minimum.SOLUTION: The structural design apparatus includes: a part calculation module 26 that determines the disposition of structural materials 20 which are used in the part according to the conditions specified to each of the parts of a building, and selects a single or plural structural materials 20 which are applicable for every point in the part; a verification calculation module 28 that verifies whether or not the selected structural materials 20 satisfy the specified conditions; a joint calculation module 30 that compares data which are read out from a database 38 including the joints 22 in the selected structural materials 20, and stores common joint structures 46 in a candidate data 50. The candidates in the plural structural materials are subjected to an evaluation 56. Structural materials 20 which have highest evaluation 56 are adopted for every part. The structure calculation module 37 performs a predetermined structure calculation and outputs the result of structure calculation.
