PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an atelocollagen from bluefin tuna skin with reduced pigment content or a derivative thereof.SOLUTION: An atelocollagen from bluefin tuna skin with reduced pigment content or a derivative thereof is obtained by the process of removing a pigment by combining a baking soda treatment and an alkaline treatment using an unfrozen bluefin tuna skin. An atelocollagen from skin of fish and atelocollagen derivative by a conventional method were not able to be used in the cosmetic field because of remaining pigment from the skin. The excellent skin smoothness and moisture retention are obtained by effectively using the atelocollagen and its acylation derivative in cosmetics or the like.
