A method and dressing for wound care is shown. One such dressing comprises a layer of spaced protrusions 102 and a plurality of holes 108 defined in the layer, each protrusion 102 for treating a wound. Shaped to receive the drug, the hole 108 is formed to allow the exudate from the wound to evaporate. The second layer 104 is provided on the first layer 106 and includes a compression band. Other such dressings comprise a plurality of layers, each layer being sandwiched with spaced projections and alternating layers of absorbent material. The alternating layers of the absorbent material communicate with each other through the holes in the non-absorbent layer, so that the exudate can move between the absorbent layers and the exudate can be kept away from the wound.
