The tissue piece holder 1 includes a plate-like main body portion composed of a heat conductive plate-like bottom member 2 and a plate-like upper member 3 and a covering sheet 4 held on the plate-like main body portion. The tissue piece holder 1 includes a tissue piece placement portion 5 formed by a notch portion 32 provided in the plate-like upper member 3 and an upper surface of the thermally conductive plate-like bottom member 2 located in the notch portion 32. The covering sheet 4 can cover the tissue piece placement portion 5.
