Lubricating oil composition for protection of silver bearings in medium speed diesel engines

Here, a medium speed diesel engine crankcase lubricating oil composition comprising: (a) a major amount of oil of lubricating viscosity; and (b) 0.1 to 5.0 weight percent silver lubricating additive comprising: (Ii) an alkoxylated fatty amine or a salt thereof; (ii) an alkoxylated fatty diamine or a salt thereof; or (iii) a mixture of (i) and (ii) above. Further provided is a method of reducing silver bearing wear and friction in a medium speed diesel engine comprising lubricating a medium speed diesel engine with the lubricating oil composition.
