PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a canned motor that has a shorter overhang.SOLUTION: The canned motor configured to be coupled to a vacuum pump and used as a rotary drive source for the vacuum pump includes a stator core, a rotor arranged inside of the stator core, and a can arranged between the stator core and the rotor to isolate the stator core and the rotor. The can has a hollow barrel part extending along a central axis of rotation of the rotor, and an open part forming an opening of the barrel part on a first side on the central axis of rotation that is a side for direct coupling to the vacuum pump. The stator core and the rotor are hermetically isolated by an O-ring arranged circumferentially on an outer surface of the open part.
