PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insolubilization material low-cost and having satisfactory workability, and to provide a technique of economically performing the insolubilization of an arsenic-containing heavy metal contaminated soil using the same.SOLUTION: An insolubilization material for an arsenic-containing heavy metal contaminated soil comprises sludge generated by the purification of water by iron bacteria, including iron hydroxide and substantially not eluting heavy metals. As the sludge, a generated product from a filtration plant applying underground water purification by iron bacteria is preferable.
