Disclosed is a technique for generating inspection data to be used in an inspection process from images of a screen mask. The unit for creating screen printing inspection data is provided with: an imaging means for imaging the lower surface of a screen mask, in which multiple openings for passing a printable material are formed, and outputting image data; an area-setting means for setting imaging areas by dividing the lower surface of the screen mask into a matrix form according to the viewing field of the imaging means; a drive means for moving the imaging means so that the imaging means can image the lower surface of the screen mask in each imaging area; a combining means for combining the image data for each imaging area of the screen mask into image data that represents a single image; a specifying means for specifying data for the openings of the screen mask from the combined image data; and a generating means for generating inspection data on the basis of the opening data specified.
