Moving handrail deterioration diagnosis device and degradation diagnostic method

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine deterioration (abrasion degree) of a handrail belt surely even though the handrail belt is dirty.SOLUTION: A movable handrail 12 of an elevator E is formed by laminating plural layers of sail clothes 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 and a steel cord 4. Weave textures 9, 10, 11 of the sail clothes 1, 2, 3 on the first layer to third layer laminated on inner layers of the steel cord 4 are made different each other for every layer, and the textures are optically detected, thereby on the basis of the difference of the weave textures 9, 10, 11 shown on the inner surface of the movable handrail, deterioration (abrasion degree) of the sail clothes can be determined even though the movable handrail is dirty.
