The low reflective coating of the present invention may suitably be applied to at least one of the major surfaces of the substrate. The low reflection coating is a film in which solid spherical silica fine particles are fixed by a binder containing a metal oxide as a main component. As silica fine particles, silica fine particles having an average particle diameter of 200 to 600 nm are included. The binder contains silica as a metal oxide. The transmittance gain obtained by applying a low reflection coating to the substrate is 1.5% or more. The transmittance gain is the average transmittance in the wavelength range 380 to 850 nm, the average transmittance of the substrate before applying the low reflective coating, and the increase in the average transmittance of the substrate with the low reflective coating.
