Compositions and methods for reducing age-related deterioration of mental activity in companion animals

Feline diet compositions comprising a sulfur-containing antioxidant are disclosed. The composition improves at least one behavioral attribute indicative of preventing or decreasing age-related deterioration of the mental capacity. Also disclosed are methods of preventing such deterioration by feeding the diet composition to a feline.
