2,2'-thiodiethanol, glycerol, and nonionic organic iodine are technologies that can make various organs sufficiently transparent without causing changes by simple operation without using toxic or dangerous organic solvents. Provided is a tissue clearing method comprising a step of immersing a tissue in an aqueous solvent containing at least one of the compounds. In this tissue clarification method, a mixed solvent of 2,2′-thiodiethanol, glycerol, and a nonionic organic iodine compound aqueous solution is preferably used as the water-soluble solvent.
