PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for decomposing a melamine compound, which does not need a complicated culture control, and to provide a melamine compound-decomposing microorganism.SOLUTION: A melamine compound-decomposing agent includes one or two kinds of bacteria selected from the following (1) and (2). (1) A Rhizobiaceae bacterium includes the following mycologic natures and taxonomic natures. The mycologic natures: includes decomposition of melamine compounds in aerobic conditions. The morphologic natures: (use culture medium: LB culture medium, 37°C, 48 hours) cell form; bacillus colony color: pale yellow color (physiological natures) gram staining; -(taxonomic natures) has DNA16SrDNA gene comprising a specific base sequence. (2) A Rhodococcus bacterium includes the following mycologic natures and taxonomic natures. The mycologic natures includes decomposition of melamine compounds in aerobic conditions. The morphologic natures: (use culture medium: LB culture medium, 37°C, 48 hours) cell form; bacillus colony color: pale orange color (physiological natures) gram staining; +(taxonomic natures) has 16SrDNA gene containing a DNA having another specific base sequence.
