Late blight Resistance Gene of Solanum americanum and Methods of use

摘要

Provided are compositions and Methods for improving Plant resistance to Disease caused by Phytophthora species. The compositions comprise Nucleic Acid molecules that encode Gene Products of Resistance (R) and variants of the same and plants, Seeds, and plant cells comprising such Nucleic Acid molecules.The Methods to improve the Resistance of a Plant Disease caused by Phytophthora species include introducing a Nucleic Acid Molecule that encodes a Gene Product r in a Plant Cell. In addition, we provide methods for plants used in Agriculture with the aim of limiting disease.
