A system for managing resource use in a Distributed Antenna System is provided. The system includes a plurality of Digital Remote Units (DRUs); a Digital Access Unit (DAU) configured to communicate with at least one of the DRUs, and be coupled to at least one of a plurality of sectors; and an algorithm for determining and gradually changing at least one of: a first power of a signal from a DRU of the plurality of DRUs to a first sector of the plurality of sectors, and a second power of the signal from the DRU to a second sector of the plurality of sectors.
