Abstract "Aircraft Fuel Supply System and Aircraft Fuel Supply Method" The present invention provides a fuel supply system (10) for supplying fuel in use from a fuel tank (20) to a power unit of aircraft (12) comprising a fuel flow passageway (18) along which, in use, fuel flows from said tank (20) to said powerplant (12), the fuel flow passageway (18) having a downstream end adjacent to the power unit and an upstream end adjacent to the fuel tank, a downstream pump (14) associated with said power unit (12) to suck fluid along said flow path to supply fluid, in use, to the said power unit, an upstream pump (22) arranged or associated with said fuel tank (20) and operable to pump fluid along said flow passage (18), a pressure (30) for monitoring the inlet pressure of said downstream pump (14), and a fuel system controller (32) responsive to said pressure sensor (30) for controlling said upstream pump (22) to maintain the inlet pressure of said downstream pump (14) at or above a predetermined limit pressure. Instead of reacting to the absolute pressure upstream of the downstream pump, the fuel controller may react to a downstream pressure measurement of the downstream pump. 1/1
