Abstract "Method for Reducing Phosphate Fertilizer Powder Generation and Phosphate Fertilizer Covering Agent Composition" The invention relates to a method and antipowder composition for phosphate fertilizers for the purpose of reducing dust levels and subsequently reducing the formation of dust from fertilizer particles. Various products and formulations have been used in the past with the related benefits and limitations (ep 0 320 987, us 5,360,465, us 5,328,497 and us 5,603,745). Previously used dust additives and methods include applying to fertilizers a complex mixture of various components and similar products such as paraffin waxes, petroleum resins and asphalt and their associated and distilled fractions. Numerous types of oils, fatty acids, mineral oils including but not limited to castor oil, corn oil, cottonseed oil, canola oil, tall oil, sunflower oil, flaxseed oil, soybean oil and blends have been Used as a dust suppressor for various types of fertilizers, including, but not limited to, fertilizers such as dap, map, ssp, tsp and etc. Many techniques have been developed to overcome problems associated with dust generation and / or blocking and some achieving some quantifiable success rate. The present invention proposes to apply a coating of fertilizer granules with alkyl oxide compounds including, but not limited to, different forms of alkyl phenol alkene oxide wherein the alkyl phenol may contain carbon chains ranging from about 1 to 3 to 28 carbon atoms and alkene oxide may contain carbon chains of from about 2 to 10 carbon atoms when added to any of the oily formulations, such as those based on petroleum or vegetable. The alkyl oxide compounds are specifically added by 15 to 40%, more precisely from 20 to 30%, and the oily solution by 10 to 60% by weight. With this composition there is an exponential increase in powder adhesion in the phosphate fertilizer granules.
