The invention relates to a single piece based on a magnetocaloric material not containing an iron-silicon alloy and a lanthanide, characterized in that: - such a piece comprises a base situated in the foreground defined by a first direction (dx). and by a second direction (dy) and a set of n unit blades (1a, i) attached to such a base; - such blades have a first dimension (dlai, x) in the first direction (dx), a second dimension (dlay, y) in the second direction (dy) and a third dimension (dlai, z) in a third direction (dz) in right angles to the first and second dimensions; - a nth blade being separated from one (i + 1) th blade by a nth distance (di); - the ratio of the second dimension to the first dimension is greater than or equal to 10; - the ratio of the third dimension to the first dimension is greater than or equal to 6; - the first dimension is of the same order of magnitude as such distance separating a nth blade from one (i + 1) blade. A thermal generator comprising unique parts of the invention is also a subject of the invention.
