In the composition of a sustained release distribution and method of stabilizing proteins during the manufacturing process as described herein, sustained and controlled administration of a therapeutic agent, such as a protein by administration of one or more microparticles, may improve the treatment of conditions such as undesirable eye conditions. The microspheres can be formulated to provide prolonged release of a protein while reducing the number of protein aggregates, achieving desirable release profiles and increasing protein stability within the microsphere formulations.
