The invention relates to images stored in a repository of information that are prepared for navigation. For each image in the repository, text is searched in the repository to extract text fragments about the image that are semantically relevant to the image, and for each of these text fragments, key terms are detected in the text fragment that represent related concepts. with the image or entities that are related to the image, and the text fragment and key terms are associated with the image. each key term that is associated with each image in the repository is linked with each other image in the repository that has this key term associated with it. A graphical user interface allows a user to browse the images in the repository by utilizing their associated text fragments and linked key terms.
