"Interferon beta-1a polymer conjugates and uses". an interferon beta polypeptide comprising interferon beta-1a coupled to a polymer containing a polyalkylene glycol group wherein interferon beta-1a and the polyalkylene glycol group are arranged such that interferon beta-1a has improved activity in to another therapeutic form of interferon beta (interferon beta-1b) and does not exhibit decreased activity compared to unconjugated interferon beta-1a. The conjugates of the invention are usefully employed in therapy as well as non-therapy applications, for example diagnostics.
