A sampling device for collection of chemically unaffected groundwater samples from low-profile wells in rocks with low permeability enabling sampling also from depths with the groundwater level below 150 m under the ground and the method of sampling using this device, where the device consists of the hollow body (31) whose upper end is provided with the head (32) with the bore (3) which connects the mouth of the valves (1, 2) to the sampling chamber (5) forming the interior of the body (31), while, on the outer surface of the head (32), there is the notch (4) for attaching the device to a supporting rope or rod assemblies, further the body is, at the lower end, provided with the head (33) with the bore (10) which connects the slip-fit coupler (12) to the sampling chamber (5), while on the outer surface of the head (33) there is the notch (11) for attaching the device to the supporting rope or rod assemblies, next, there is, inside the sampling chamber (5), the loosely positioned steel hydraulic piston (8) provided, for the smooth operation, with two guide rings (6, 9) and one sealing Teflon ring (7) to ensure the impermeability of the hydraulic piston (8), the slip-fit coupler (12) is connected to the pressure tube (113) for connecting the device to the source (18) of compressed air and the one-way slip-fit valve (1) is connected to the output sampling tube (111) for discharging the material of the sample into collecting vessel (17) and the one-way slip-fit valve (2) is connected to the input sampling tube (112) for collection of the sample material from the tube (22) located at the sampling site defined by the packers (21, 23).
