The essence of the invention is porphyrin substituted at positions 10 and 20 by sucrose molecules and at positions 5 and 15 by phenyl substituents of formula 1. The synthesis consists in condensation of 1,3,4-tri-O-benzoyl-6-deoxy-6-(1H-pyrrol-2-yl)-6-(1H-fructofuranosyl-2,3,4,6-tetra-O-benzoyl-.alpha.-D-glucopyranoside with benzaldehyde under trifluoroacetic acid catalysis and in de-benzylation of the resulting intermediate, preferably by the Zemplén method. The compound according to the invention is usable for the production of electrochemical sensors and products serving as detectors and carriers of selected substrates, and as chiral scaffolding enabling, for example, the enantioselective course of reactions and the electromagnetic radiation harvester.
