The invention relates to a method for controlling a ventilation system for the ventilation of an enclosure (5). The ventilation system comprises two or more ventilation units (1), which each selectively can establish an air flow to or from the enclosure (5). The method comprises the steps of: determining information regarding operational conditions of one or more of the two or more ventilation units (1) by at least measuring the air flow through the ventilation units (1), generating operation control data for one or more of the ventilation units (1) from at least one of the information regarding operational conditions determined for another of the two or more ventilation units (1), and controlling the operation of one or more of the two or more ventilation units (1) by applying the generated operation control data. The invention further relates to a ventilation system for ventilating an enclosure (5).
