Describes an insecticidal composition containing as an active active ingredient a synergistically effective combination of clothianidin (I) and imidacloprid (II) in a weight ratio of (I) to (II) from 1:10 to 10: 1, characterized in that it additionally contains a synergistic effective amount active compound (III) from the class of synthetic pyrethroids selected from the group: cypermethrin, alpha-cypermethrin, beta-cypermethrin, lambda-cygalothrin, esfenvalerate, beta-cyfluthrin, tau fluvalinate. A method for controlling pests of agricultural crops is also described, characterized in that the pests and their habitats are treated with an effective amount of an insecticidal composition. The creation of this composition solves the problem of increasing efficiency in the fight against various types of pests.
