The dual-mode inspection system for fast moving objects using radiation contains a radiation source, a collimator (220), blocks (110, 121, 122, 150, 160) of sensors, a module (500) of control, a radiation detector and an imaging device using radiation, with blocks (110, 121, 122, 150, 160) sensors are used to identify the type of moving object and control the position of the moving object in the inspection area; a control module (500) is used to control the radiation source so that it emits rays in a given operating mode based on the type and position of the moving object; the specified operating mode corresponds to the type of moving object, and in different operating modes, the rays emitted by the radiation source are characterized by different dose rates.
