In some embodiments, the device may be configured to detect gas consumption. The device may comprise: (a) a processing module adapted to operate on a computing element; and (b) a sensing element adapted to be connected to a gas regulator, wherein the sensing element comprises: (1) at least one acoustic sensor adapted to detect two or more beeps produced by the gas regulator and convert two or more beeps or the first few data signals; and (2) a transmitter electrically connected to at least one acoustic sensor and adapted to transmit one or several first data signals to the computing element.
